Welcome to the Blogger’s Christmas Wishlist 2017!
If you’re a regular to FF, you’ll know that I don’t usually do this style of post but it was a huge success last year (I mean, I got most things off the list!!) so I’ve decided to do one again this year.
Being a blogger is a special kind of treat when it comes to Christmas.
Not only is it a great time to get your hands on some of the things you’ve wanted all year, but it’s also the perfect time to treat a fellow blogger (or yourself!) to something both special and, for the most part, super useful.

Even before I started blogging I was obsessed with all things stationery. And planners have always been my absolute favourite!
The Happiness Planner
The Happiness Planner isn’t your typical planner. Instead of focusing on productivity like most planners, it focuses on your happiness and helping you to cultivate happiness in everyday life.
The focus of this planner is on making each day a positive experience through embracing the power of positive thinking, mindfulness, gratitude, and self-development. What is there not to love about The Happiness Planner?
The planner itself has a hard cover, is spiral bound and has 424 pages of high-quality paper. Just some of the pages that you can expect to find inside the planner are:
- A yearly overview,
- Daily pages
- Daily quotes and goal setting
- Daily reflection and positive thinking
- Monthly and yearly reflection
The daily pages are designed to practice self-reflection, plan your life around things that truly matter and train your mind to always look at the positive side of things.

I just purchased the 2018 PowerSheets a couple of weeks ago and I am so happy with my purchase!
PowerSheets are the ultimate goal planner for any blogger or entrepreneur (although they are marketed at an even wider audience than that).
The purpose of this planner is to help you uncover intentional goals and live them out! Every blogger and business owner’s dream right? The planner operates on this simple three-part guided process:
- PowerSheets Prep Work – the first section of the planner helps you to work through your goals for the year and uncover what is more important to you
- Intentional Action Plans – the step-by-step action plan pages then give you space to break down your goals into actionable steps.
- Monthly Tending Pages – these pages help you to bring your goals and actions to life and track your progress each month.

There are so many courses out there that I would love to take but, when it comes to budgeting, there’s often more essential things to spend money on. That’s why buying courses for a blogger at Christmas is a great idea!
Here are my favourite courses at the moment that are not only great value for money but will really help you progress your blog for a successful 2018:

The “Techie Stuff”
A Light Box
This Amzdeal lightbox is the one that I use and I absolutely love it! It simply plugs into my laptop (or any USB port) to turn on the light strip and then folds neatly away once I’m finished with it. I was a bit skeptical about how much difference a light box could make to my photos but it’s incredible! Even photos I take with my phone look professional now. And, at Only £26.99 it’s an absolute bargain.
A New Blog Theme
If you’re a regular to the FF blog, you’ll know how much of a fan I am of premium WordPress themes. You can check out my full post on why it’s time to upgrade to a premium theme here.
If you’re struggling for ideas, here are a few of my favourite feminine WordPress themes:
Tweak Me v2 – Nose Graze
Obviously, this was going to feature first on my list as it’s the theme I use. And I love it!
Tweak Me v2 comes with 5 ready-made designs to get you started, all of which are customisable. Alternatively, you can start from scratch and edit every element of your blog.
Key features include:
- Access to Google Fonts library
- Customisable page layouts
- Only display the information you want (you can hide things like meta info and excerpts of your posts)
- Automatic updates
Creative – Beautiful Dawn Designs
I love this funky, colourful layout. It looks super simple and clean but also really professional at the same time.
Key features of this theme include:
- About me and social media widgets
- Optional blog homepage slider
- Full or excerpt posts
- 5 layout options
Rachel – Bluchic
This theme has some serious feminine charm! I love how effortlessly pretty it is. In fact, I love it so much that I’ve just bought it for one of my other blogs!
Key features include:
- Responsive layout design
- Sticky menu
- Banner ad ready
- 3 promo boxes for featured widgets
Are you are any of your blogging friends starting to use videos as part of your blogging or social media strategy? If so, it’s probably time to invest in a microphone.
By far the best microphone I have come across is the Blue Yeti and, at under £100, it’s excellent value for money. The microphone has a USB connection which means you can record directly onto your computer or laptop – perfect for Facebook Lives, YouTube videos, and podcasts.
If you’re not that serious about video yet and you’re just exploring possibilities, this mini clip-on mic is fantastic. I use it for both my laptop and phone when I’m recording short videos or audio clips. It’s super easy to use and an absolute steal at under £10
Hosting is one of those things that every blogger has to have. It’s also the least fun thing we spend our money on! It’s also surprisingly affordable! For just $3.75 a month you could keep your blogging friend’s blog hosted for them! Or, why not ask your friends or family to get this for you? I don’t know about you but I’d rather receive this at Christmas than something I’d never use!
I host Flourishing Freelancer with Siteground and would thoroughly recommend them. My site has never been down and, any questions or problems I’ve ever had (usually with transferring sites!) have been solved within minutes using their online chat system.
If you’ve not made the leap to self-hosted yet, you can check out my post on why you should here.
So, what’s on your Christmas list?
Let me know in the comments below.
