Tell Us a Little Bit About Your Blog/Biz
I take a holistic approach in life. My mantra and Bible verse I live by is “Beloved, I pray above all things you will prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:4). My blog isn’t about religion but living a life that’s whole. I attempt to use this platform to encourage and empower women to live a life that’s mind-blowing by showcasing my life’s ups and downs.
What Inspired You to Start Your Own Blog/Biz
There came a point in my life where I was depressed and thought about suicide. I had to get out of that dark place, so I cried out to God quite a few nights, telling him I needed a deeper spiritual connection. I knew there was more to life that I could experience. Blogging came to me during self-introspection since I love to write. So here I am!
What Were the First Steps Your Took to Put Your Dreams into Action?
I started a year ago but was inactive because I wasn’t motivated and totally lost. Then I became reinvigorated when I kept being advertised to from It’s a Lovely Life™ bloggers to take their course to Start a Money Making Blog.
What is the Biggest Challenge You’ve Faced so Far and How Did You Overcome it?
Oh hell! Where do I begin? Starting out as an entrepreneur is a challenge in itself. I am trying to find my footing. I am trying to learn as much as I can. In a saturated market, I am trying to create my individuality/brand, while simultaneously expand my reach. I just went full throttle with this thing back in December 2017.
What is Your Biggest Achievement to Date?
Out of a random act of kindness, I was nominated by Jennifer Pompaski for the Sunshine Blogger Award.
What is Your Favourite Thing About Running Your Own Blog/Biz?
I can visualize the independence I can have as a mother. The earning potential is truly limitless I am learning. Plus, I dictate my time and I place a value on my worth.
What Could You/Your Blog Your Business Not Function Without?
My blog can’t function without me. And I can’t function without coffee, but I am allergic to drinking coffee, though. Ain’t that some shit! I get abscesses in my armpits and groin area when I consume caffeine. I talk about it on my blog.
What Keeps You Motivated and Focused When Things Get Tough?
My three-year-old daughter and hope in a better future keep me going. I visualize getting out of the rate race and traveling whenever the hell I want. I visualize not living paycheck-to-paycheck anymore.
What One Thing do You Wish You Had Known Before You Started Out?
I should’ve kept going when I started my blog over a year ago. I would’ve been further along in my business and journey. However, the one thing I try not to do is live a life of regret. Oh, and had I known Twitter was the shit, I would’ve tapped in a long time ago. I had no idea Twitter was excellent for bloggers in terms of so much unsolicited advice, resources and love.
What Does the Future Hold for Your Blog/Biz?
Oh, honey! I’m gonna be so paid. My income will surpass my income as a Registered nurse. With that financial freedom, aside from my personal ventures, I want to be able to bless women in any way I can using my platform to host intimate conventions, help women heal and show women how to get paid – become their own boss.
Finally, Tell us One Random Thing About Yourself!
I served in the US Army for 15 years. I got out as a Staff Sergeant. I’m pretty transparent on my blog so I don’t have too many things that are hidden in my life.
A huge thank you to Tanethia for taking the time to share her story with us!
