Happy New Year folks!

I thought I’d kick this year off with a nice little post about my 2018 goals for Flourishing Freelancer.

If you’ve been part of the Flourishing Freelancer community for a while, you’ll know how important goal setting and planning is to me. You’ll also know how much time and energy I put into planning at the end of 2017 (mainly because I was banging on about it all over social media!)

As part of my aim to share everything with you, and to keep me accountable, I’ve decided to share my goals for 2018 with you. So here goes…

1. Launch Two New Courses in the Flourishing Freelancer School

I’ve been working on these courses pretty much all year (2017). I had so many ideas that it was really tough to narrow them down to just two. Then I spent quite a lot of time researching my target audience to make sure that I was working on something that you guys really needed.

I’ve been keeping details of the courses quiet because I kept changing my mind so much. Whilst the overall aims of the courses haven’t changed, things like the curriculum and bonuses being offered etc. have.

I’m finally ready to announce the first course (the second isn’t due to be launched until June so I’ll be sharing more information closer to the time).

Blogging Babe to Business Boss

This is going to be my “signature course” and what I will be focusing a lot of time and energy on throughout 2018. Whilst it is a self-paced course, it’s aimed at new bloggers so I want to be able to offer as much support and guidance to students outside of the course as possible.

The course consists of 10 modules and takes you through everything you need to build your online empire. From choosing a name to setting up your blog and growing your traffic to making money online, everything you could possibly need to start and grow a profitable blog can be found all in one place.

Along with lifetime access to the course, you’ll also gain exclusive access to the Facebook Group just for students of this course and some exciting bonuses too.

You can grab the course, for an exclusive early-bird price at the moment. The course will officially be launching on the 8th January but, between now and then, you can grab it at 50% of the original price. You’ll then get full access to the course content when it goes live on the 8th (at which point the price will be increasing back to full-price). 2. Post More Often

Don’t worry, I’m not breaking my own goal setting rules here. This goal is more specific than just “post more often”. I’ve just used that generic title here because it actually applies to more than one element of Flourishing Freelancer and each element has a different target.

The Flourishing Freelancer Blog

You’ll all be super excited to know that I’ll be posting a lot more content this year! Well, double the content to be more accurate. That’s right, I’m going to be publishing two new posts each week – one on a Monday and one on Thursday.

I’ve actually got all 104 blog posts planned out already! I spent an entire afternoon back in November brainstorming ideas and drinking lots of coffee. By the end of the afternoon, I had a post title in each slot in my content calendar and the first three posts outlined!

You can find the exact method that I used here:

The Facebook Group

If you’re not a member of the Flourishing Freelancer Facebook Community yet, go and join now!

Those of you who are already members and have been for a little while will know that I currently post a promo thread each day, as well as a “Question Time” post aimed at getting to know you guys a bit better and sparking some discussions.

Throughout this year I want to post more “helpful” content in that group. This means sharing more resources and also offering some training sessions (I’m currently thinking one live session each week on a topic chosen by members). I’d also like to see more posts from members themselves with questions, ideas and collab opportunities being shared with the group.

Ah man, Instagram! I love it and I hate it all at the same time! I think the issue that I’ve had with Instagram previously is consistency. It’s a like a new diet or a resolution to go to the gym. You do amazing for the first few days, or even weeks but then you stop doing it and forget about it.

Well, not this year! No, sir. This year I’m going to be posting daily and sharing stories…maybe even doing the odd live (we’ll see about that one).

One of the tools that has helped me massively with my following in 2017 is the Ultimate Hashtag Database. Even though I wasn’t posting regularly, by using the right hashtags, I’ve seen my following start to grow. The database includes hashtags for over 35 different niches and also includes a walkthrough video so there’s no guesswork on your part.

3. To Grow my Email List

This is on every blogger’s goals list for this year, right?

I mean, who doesn’t want to grow their email list? It’s the ideal way to connect with your audience and to turn readers into customers and clients.

My list has been growing steadily over the past 18 months but I haven’t really put a lot of time and effort into growing it. Sure, there are the odd opt-in freebies scattered through my blog posts and I currently have three free courses for bloggers to sign up to but there’s not been any real strategy.

So, throughout January I’m going to be putting my thinking cap on and really starting to work on a real email list growth strategy. Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing all of my hints, tips and lessons learnt with you later in the year!

4. Step Up my Affiliate Game

What do I mean by this? Well, put simply, I mean that I want to earn more money from affiliate programmes. I’m a member of a few really good ones but I’ll be the first person to hold my hands up and say that I don’t really “use” them.

I definitely don’t promote them anywhere near as much as I could and should. And, as a result, the income I receive from them is minimal. I know that the earning potential is there and I know what I need to do but, until now, it’s never really been a priority. When I was working full-time alongside running Flourishing Freelancer time was tight and really working on my affiliate marketing strategy wasn’t at the top of my to-do list. Now that I’m focusing all of my time on Flourishing Freelancer and my businesses, I definitely need to sort this out!

As I start to implement my various strategies, I’ll be sharing what does and doesn’t work well with you so keep your eyes peeled for those. But, if like me, you’re keen to get started with affiliate marketing or up your game right now, I would highly recommend Ana’s Zero to Hero affiliate marketing bundle. It really does cover everything you need and it’s what I’ll be using to get that affiliate income rolling in in 2018. Blogger's Christmas Wishlist

5. To Collaborate with More Bloggers and Influencers

This is something that I’ve been meaning to do for such a long time but never got around to it. Partly due to time but also partly to do with nerves and being afraid.

The thought of approaching another blogger or an influencer in my niche scares the hell out of me! Well, it used to. Towards the end of 2017, I started chatting online with a few other bloggers. Some were in my Mastermind Group, others were just in Facebook Groups that I was a part of. Before I even realised it, I was networking and discussing potential collaborations.

So, this year, I’m going to be reaching out to others with the primary purpose of working together. Those relationships and connections are so important in the blogging world, both for your “career” and for your sanity. Were it not for my Mastermind Group girlies, there’s no way I would have got through the tail end of 2017, especially after going full-time self-employed. They really were my rock on a business level and on a personal level too!

And that’s it for my big 2018 goals for FF. I mean, I do have three other blogs/businesses that I have set goals for so I really have my work cut out for me!

What are your goals for this year? Let me know in the comments below.
